Let’s face it, these ain’t the best of times out there, economically speaking, but the new SUV flagship from Korea, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, is going on sale next month priced for the budget-conscious buyer
Hyundai’s big seven-seater SUV has quietly gone into its fourth-generation and suddenly we’ve noticed it, because the new 2019 Santa Fe has grown all, nice…
Besides the much improved looks – Hyundai calls out the ‘Cascading Grille’ and ‘Composite Light’ all upper-cased like that – the SUV also comes with optional all-wheel drive, and either a 2.5-litre or 3.5-litre engine option with, respectively, a six-speed and eight-speed automatic gearbox. This means the old 3.3-litre making 270 horsepower at 6,400rpm is out, replaced now in the ‘full-options’ 2019 Santa Fe by a 276bhp 3.5-litre. Other markets get only one option, a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 235bhp. We fail to gather why Hyundai, like a lot of other carmakers, insists on bringing outdated powerplants to our market.
On the outside the SUV is decorated in LEDs everywhere, and you can spec up to 19-inch wheels, plus safety features like collision warnings and driving assists. However, we have to point out that aesthetically there is a bit too much Audi-esque design going on than is strictly healthy, but it looks nonetheless.
The interior is crammed too, with an 8.0-inch display, connectivity features, wireless phone charging and a head-up display.
The entire equipment list is pretty huge, so you can end up with a loaded Santa Fe complete with panoramic roof, rear spoiler, ventilated seats, and even a leg cushion extension.
If you do go crazy with the options and take the fully loaded 2019 Santa Fe you’ll still only pay about AED140,000, with prices expected to start from around the AED100,000 range for front-wheel drive models. In any case this is a family-hauler that’s just right for the times.
Santa Fe has always been one of the best SUV of the korean brand Hyundai. These are not the best economic times indeed, but the huge equipment and its great perfomance is worthy of investment, specially knowing Santa Fe is the Hyundai SUV by excellence which price is considered by buyers who knows how to spend their money. Great post!
