Since you can’t stop buying Nissan Patrols, here’s another one

The new 2019 Nissan Patrol is here, and it’s got an exclusive new look for our region as well as a shiny exhaust tip. Ooh…

The Nissan Patrol is part and parcel of the automotive scene here and together with the Toyota Land Cruiser heads up the hierarchy on our roads. When you see these lights flashing in your mirror, you know where your place is.

In fact you lot just can’t seem to stop buying these things – so far this financial year Nissan is 110 percent up on the same period in 2017 with Patrol sales. Naturally to keep things going they’ve made the current one obsolete with the introduction of a new 2019 Nissan Patrol with exclusive bits just for our region.

The car is already on sale with prices starting from AED181,000 – for that you get a 4.0-litre V6 engine under the bonnet rated at 275 horsepower with over 390Nm of torque. That’s good enough to pull two tonnes in your wake, but the one to have remains the 5.6-litre V8 option, which produces 400 horsepower at 5,800rpm and 560Nm of torque.

So basically, no change there, but Nissan hopes to draw you into the showrooms in other ways. The 2019 Patrol is now available in two new colours they call Hermosa Blue and Forged Copper Brown though you’ll just get it in white anyway, and the exterior comes with trim not available in any other market.

Starting right now you can buy the 2019 Nissan Patrol in the UAE with exclusive bits included just for our region. Nissan really is stretching that a bit, because all you get are slightly different bumpers and some grey plastic body cladding around the wheel arches. Oh, and the indicators have been integrated into the side mirrors, and there’s a shinier exhaust tip.

The rest of it is otherwise your same beloved Patrol, with a locking rear differential for the days spent in the sand and all the other kit you’d expect.
