You’ll be able to choose from more than 200 parts in the new Mopar factory catalogue for the Jeep Gladiator when it comes to the UAE in 2020, and we like the big toys best
The 2020 Jeep Gladiator – the first pickup from the manufacturer in 26 years since the 1992 Comanche – hasn’t been out for a day and Mopar already released a massive list of parts to outfit your truck and conquer any shopping mall parking lot.
More than 200 parts are available for the Gladiator, but unfortunately there’s no kit that turns it into a two-door, like that Comanche that came based on the timeless XJ generation… Most of the catalogue is full of accessories such as storage systems, LED spotlights, bed liners and things.
The real good stuff will turn you out a proper off-roading machine, with a two-inch lift kit, rock rails running underneath, and it’ll be a hit in front of Carrefour. For extra satisfaction you can pack your croissants in lockable dual sliding drawers behind the tailgate also available from Mopar.
If you find you can’t stop yourself when perusing the catalogue, you’ll end up going all the way with side graphics and bonnet vinyls – depicting ‘1941’ obviously, to commemorate the Gladiator’s war-hero Willys ancestor.
Jeep also says Mopar’s cold-air intake mod increases performance, which is more like it, and the 17-inch deadlock wheels are designed for heavy off-road use, as are the heavy, winch-ready steel bumpers front and rear.
When it comes to the UAE and the Middle East region in 2020 the Jeep Gladiator pickup truck should be a hit, particularly in Rubicon trim with a 3.6-litre V6 engine rated at 285 horsepower like you get in the Wrangler. Jeep hasn’t mentioned any prices yet, but the 2020 Gladiator won’t be cheap, so expect a fully loaded example to creep up well over AED200,000.
