Foton iBlue EV Van Now Available in Malaysia: Key Features and Specifications

The Foton iBlue, also known as the View iBlue or iBlue V6 in certain markets, is now available for purchase in Malaysia through Berjaya China Motor (BCM). This fully electric van offers a range of features and specifications that make it a practical and efficient choice for businesses and individuals in need of a cargo vehicle.

The iBlue comes in two versions: a panel van and a semi-panel version. The panel van is priced at RM200,035 on-the-road without insurance, while the semi-panel version is priced at RM207,035. Both versions offer a rear cargo space of up to 7.1 cubic meters, providing ample room for transporting goods.

In terms of dimensions, the iBlue measures 5,320 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width, and 1,990 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 3,050 mm, and the rear cargo area measures 3,480 mm in length, 1,540 mm in width, and 1,320 mm in height.

Powering the iBlue is a CATL-supplied lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 50.23 kWh. This battery provides a range of up to 195 km following the WLTP standard, or 235 km following the NEDC standard. The electric motor has an output of 116 PS (114 hp or 85 kW) and 290 Nm of torque.

The iBlue supports both AC (Type 2) and DC fast charging (CCS2) and offers convenient charging times. With AC charging, the battery can go from 20% to 80% in five hours and from 20% to 100% in eight hours. With DC charging, it takes just 0.67 hours to go from 20% to 80% and 1.33 hours to go from 20% to 100%.

Notable features of the iBlue include ABS with EBD, front brake discs, rear drum brakes, and a rear window defroster. BCM also provides additional benefits with each purchase, including a three-year subscription to a vehicle telematics system, a 7 kW AC wall charger with installation, and RM1,000 worth of public charging credit valid for one year.

The Foton iBlue EV van is already being used by Pos Malaysia for last-mile deliveries alongside other electric vehicles. Its practicality, range, and features make it a compelling option for businesses and individuals in Malaysia seeking an efficient and environmentally friendly cargo vehicle.
