The smart #1, a fully electric SUV, is now open for booking in Malaysia, making it the first ASEAN country to offer pre-orders for this model. Customers can place their pre-orders through the Hello smart app, with a refundable fee of RM1,000. The first 501 customers to pre-order will receive charging credits worth RM1,001 upon delivery of their new electric vehicle.
The smart #1 will be available in three variants: Pro, Premium, and Brabus. The estimated price range for these variants is between RM200,000 and RM250,000. While final pricing has not been confirmed yet, a complete spec sheet has been provided to give potential customers an idea of what they can expect.
In terms of dimensions, the smart #1 is similar in size to the MINI Countryman and smaller than the BYD Atto 3. All three variants share the same dimensions, including a length of 4,270 mm, width of 1,822 mm, height of 1,636 mm, wheelbase of 2,750 mm, ground clearance of 182 mm, and kerb weight ranging from 1,780 kg to 1,900 kg, depending on the variant.
The powertrains of the Pro and Premium variants feature a rear-mounted electric motor, while the Brabus variant adds an additional electric motor at the front for all-wheel drive. The Pro variant is equipped with a 49 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, while the Premium and Brabus variants feature a 66 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery. The Brabus variant offers the highest performance with an output of 428 PS (315 kW), while the Pro and Premium variants have an output of 272 PS (200 kW).
The smart #1 comes with a range of features and equipment, including LED headlamps, alloy wheels, panoramic roof, powered tailgate, front seats with memory function, climate control, digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and smartphone connectivity, and more. The Premium and Brabus variants offer additional lighting features, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, head-up display, and a premium sound system.
All variants of the smart #1 come with advanced driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, parking assist, and autonomous emergency braking.
