Tata Motors has shared a teaser of the upcoming 2023 Harrier facelift, signaling its imminent launch in the coming weeks. Bookings for the updated midsize SUV are set to open on October 6th, indicating that the official reveal and price announcement are just around the corner. This will mark the first design refresh for the Harrier since its debut in 2019.
One of the prominent changes expected in the 2023 Tata Harrier facelift is its front-end design, inspired by the new Nexon EV. It will feature a full-width LED daytime running light (DRL) bar with a welcoming function, accompanied by a new grille. Additionally, the SUV will be equipped with new LED headlights housed in triangular housings, providing a more modern and sleek appearance.
While the side profile of the Harrier is likely to remain largely unchanged, minor updates such as new alloy wheels may be introduced. At the rear, connected LED tail lamps and an updated bumper are expected to enhance the overall look of the SUV.
Inside the cabin, the Harrier facelift will receive significant updates. Spy shots have revealed a revised dashboard with cleaner and more horizontal lines, creating a more sophisticated and spacious feel. The infotainment system will be upgraded to a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen display, similar to the one found in the Nexon EV. Other notable features include a four-spoke steering wheel with a glossy black panel, touch-based climate controls, and an illuminated Tata logo.
Under the hood, the 2023 Harrier facelift is expected to introduce a new 1.5-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine, alongside the existing 2-litre diesel engine. The petrol variant could be paired with a manual or dual-clutch transmission, while the diesel variant will continue to be offered with both manual and automatic options.
With these significant updates and enhancements, the 2023 Tata Harrier facelift is expected to come with a higher price tag compared to its predecessor. It will compete against rivals such as the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700 5-seater, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos.
