Tata Motors has launched the updated Nexon range in India, including the facelifted version of the Nexon EV. Priced between ₹14.74 lakh and ₹19.94 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2023 Tata Nexon EV facelift aims to compete with rivals such as the MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400, and Hyundai Kona EV.
The Nexon EV has been a success for Tata Motors, helping the company secure over 80% market share in India’s electric car market. In an effort to attract more buyers, Tata Motors has introduced various updates to the Nexon EV facelift, enhancing its appeal.
In terms of price, the 2023 Tata Nexon EV facelift is significantly cheaper compared to the MG ZS EV, with a price range of ₹14.74 lakh to ₹19.94 lakh (ex-showroom). In contrast, the MG ZS EV is priced between ₹23.38 lakh and ₹28 lakh (ex-showroom). Even the top-end trim of the Nexon EV is more affordable than the base variant of the MG ZS EV.
When it comes to specifications, the Nexon EV facelift is available in two variants: Mid Range and Long Range. The Mid Range variant is equipped with a 30 kWh battery pack, while the Long Range variant has a larger 40.5 kWh battery pack. Both variants offer improved range compared to the pre-facelift model. The Mid Range variant now offers up to 325 km of range, while the Long Range variant offers 465 km of range on a full charge.
In terms of power, the Nexon EV facelift is powered by a Gen2 motor. The Mid Range variant delivers 127 bhp of peak power and 215 Nm of torque, while the Long Range variant produces 143 bhp of peak power and 215 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the MG ZS EV is powered by a larger 50.3 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 461 km on a single charge.
Overall, the 2023 Tata Nexon EV facelift offers competitive pricing and improved specifications compared to its rivals in the electric SUV segment. With its affordable price range and increased range, the Nexon EV facelift aims to strengthen Tata Motors’ position in the Indian electric car market.
