AutoFlight Introduces Groundbreaking Firefighting Program

AutoFlight, a leading global pioneer in electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) technology, has unveiled its latest innovation—a high-payload firefighting program. The company has also released a fully functional prototype of its firefighting model, which is based on its popular cargo eVTOL aircraft, CarryAll.

Designed to cater specifically to firefighting needs, the AutoFlight firefighting model is expected to achieve certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) by early 2024. With a maximum takeoff weight of two metric tons (MTOW), this advanced model has the capacity to carry a 400kg payload over a distance of up to 200km, boasting speeds exceeding 200km/h.

The firefighting model is equipped with state-of-the-art technology that enables it to transport four high-performance fire-extinguishing canisters, each weighing 100kg. These canisters are capable of individually extinguishing fires covering up to 200 square meters, providing a collective coverage of up to 800 square meters.

In comparison to existing fire-fighting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) available in the market, AutoFlight’s prototype exhibits significant improvements across multiple areas, including load capacity, flight duration, coverage, flight efficiency, and firefighting effectiveness.

Kellen Xie, Senior Vice President of Global Sales & Business Development at AutoFlight, expressed confidence in the prototype’s capabilities, stating, “The initial demonstrations with potential customers received very encouraging feedback.” Xie also added that the company plans to enter discussions with clients and development partners to further refine the prototype, encompassing ground station and supporting systems.

AutoFlight is known for its cutting-edge expertise in artificial intelligence, 5G technology, breakthrough materials, and advanced manufacturing. As a global high-tech startup, the company is committed to developing and manufacturing electric aerial vehicles that provide efficient logistics systems and innovative urban air mobility solutions.
