Corporates Join the Electric Mobility Movement in India: Leading EV Charger Manufacturer Partners With IIT-Roorkee

Servotech Power Systems Ltd (SPSL), a prominent electric vehicle (EV) charger manufacturer in India, has taken a major step forward in the country’s electric mobility sector. The company has entered into an agreement with the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee) to develop onboard e-chargers for battery-operated two-, three-, and four-wheelers. Additionally, another pact with IIT-Roorkee aims to develop rectifier units for imports.

This collaboration between SPSL and IIT-Roorkee represents a groundbreaking initiative that will contribute to the acceleration of EV charging infrastructure development and deployment across India. As the nation progresses towards cleaner and more sustainable transportation solutions, the establishment of an efficient charging network is crucial.

The onboard chargers being developed by SPSL are compact, lightweight, and specifically engineered to be directly installed on various types of electric vehicles. This eliminates the need for a separate standalone charger, making it more convenient for EV owners.

Earlier this year, SPSL also forged a partnership with the Uttar Pradesh government to establish an electric vehicle charger manufacturing facility in the state. This venture involves a significant investment of Rs 300 crore, in alignment with the Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy of 2022.

With these strategic collaborations and investments, SPSL is positioning itself as a key player in the Indian e-mobility space. The company is committed to supporting the nation’s transition towards a sustainable future by providing advanced charging solutions for electric vehicles.
