Kawasaki Unveils Details of Ninja e-1 & Z e-1 Electric Bikes

Kawasaki has finally unveiled the much-anticipated details of its upcoming electric bikes, the Ninja e-1 and Z e-1. These electric motorcycles are based on their internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts, taking design inspiration from the popular Ninja and Z series.

Unlike high-performance electric vehicles, the Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 are designed to be equivalent to 125cc petrol-powered motorcycles. Both bikes are equipped with a 5kW motor and a removable battery pack. They boast a top speed of 99 km/h and offer two ride modes – Ride and Eco – with an e-boost mode available for short bursts of additional performance.

In terms of features, the electric bikes offer a reverse mode, walk mode, LED lighting, a TFT console, and smartphone connectivity. While the exact battery capacity and range have not been disclosed, it is known that the bikes come with a twin removable battery setup.

Excitingly, the Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 are scheduled to be launched in the UK in October 2023. However, it is still unclear whether Kawasaki plans to bring these electric bikes to the Indian market. Electric options such as the Ather 450X, Tork Kratos, Revolt RV400, and Ultraviolette F77 are currently available in India, offering eco-friendly alternatives for riders.
