Tata Motors has released a teaser for the upcoming facelifted versions of the Harrier and Safari SUVs. The manufacturer will begin accepting bookings for the new models on October 6th. The facelifted vehicles will feature a refreshed design language known as “Curvv”, along with updated interiors and the possibility of introducing a petrol engine option.
One of the key design changes is the addition of a connected lightbar in the front, giving the SUVs a distinctive look. The Harrier and Safari will retain the Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engine, which produces 168 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Additionally, Tata may introduce a new 1.5-litre petrol engine with direct injection technology, generating 168 bhp and 280 Nm of torque.
The updated design will include a split headlamp setup with LED Daytime Running Lamps connected via a light bar. The main headlamp housing will now be positioned vertically. The Safari will feature a more up-market grille compared to the Harrier, providing a distinguishing factor between the two SUVs. New alloy wheels will be added to the sides, while the rear will include a connected lightbar.
Inside the cabin, the Harrier and Safari will receive a new steering wheel with a digital Tata logo. There is a possibility of incorporating the new infotainment system and digital instrument cluster from the Nexon, as well as updated HVAC controls that were first introduced in the Nexon. The dashboard may also undergo a redesign.
With these updates, Tata Motors aims to enhance the appeal of the Harrier and Safari, offering customers a refreshed design language, improved interiors, and the potential for a petrol engine option.
